Change of Major into Nursing

A TCU student may change to the nursing major if the student is not on academic warning or probation and has or can reasonably expect to have a 2.5 TCU cumulative GPA by the time the student is ready to enroll in courses limited to the nursing major. The TCU student is required to meet with the Assistant Director of Nursing Recruitment and Retention prior to changing their major to nursing. It is strongly recommended the change of major be completed at least one semester prior to the first semester of nursing practicum courses.

Permission to enroll in practicum courses is determined by the availability of clinical placement slots in clinical facilities. The student must meet the requirements for graduation based upon the published TCU Bulletin at the time of entry into the major. TCU students are required to submit an Intent form to Begin Clinical Coursework; October 1st for Spring entry and February 1st for Fall entry, transfer students at TCU can only submit the intent for Fall entry.
